This was my (Cadu Medina) first long-form documentary editing and sound design project: Osa The Jewel of Costa Rica. It was produced by Inflection Studios and directed by Austin Andrews. I’m so proud to say that this film has been in the official selection of the Sedona Film Festival and The Newport Beach Film Festival. It’s a great documentary and a great story about a very important cause.
As always, documentaries are very challenging, especially from a post-production perspective. Storytelling is crucial and information, facts, viewpoints, footage and interviews are generally abundant! Austin and I started sketching out ways to tell this story on a whiteboard about a year prior to the completion of the documentary. Åsa Björklund, my good friend and writer, came on board and helped us write a script that structured and guided me during the long editing process of this documentary.
The documentary is 60 min long, but it’s currently not available for the general public. We’ll let you know the minute it is released! In the meantime, enjoy the trailer!
